Spooky Fest Volunteers

The Center for Science needs you!

Come volunteer and be a part of Spooky Fest! This is our annual fund raiser – our organization is a non-profit science center that helps to promote passion for science to the community and takes care of many abandoned animals, so your interest in volunteering with us is greatly appreciated!

To volunteer, fill out the online volunteer form below. Spooky Fest 2025 takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of the following weekends: October 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 31-Nov 2 (RAIN OR SHINE).

While we hope to accommodate everyone to the positions that they request, please understand that we may have to move some volunteers around as other positions need.

Volunteers are needed from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm at CSTL located at 1450 Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre. Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Volunteers under 18 must complete a Minor Volunteer Parent Consent Form:

There are several positions:

  • Haunted Woods – This is a scary attraction. We need people to dress as zombies or other monsters and jump out to scare guests.
  • Enchanted Walk – Guides, colorfully dressed in the beautiful walk, will greet and assist guests.
  • Princess and Prince – Stand by the horse and coach, take pictures with children.
  • Merry Monsters – Characters that will greet the children.
  • Face Painting – Using the templates provided, you can paint children’s faces or hands.
  • Fortune Telling – Predict the future for children and families.
  • Glow Tent – Help children create glowing slime.
  • Crafts – Help the kids do fun Halloween crafts.
  • Entry Table – Check in guests and distribute tickets.
